Terms of Service
Last updated: July 27, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of ResumeME at resumeme.io (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The service
ResumeME analyzes, scores, and helps you rewrite resumes and related documents using artificial intelligence, and lets you export the results. The Service is currently offered free of charge. We may introduce paid tiers later; free features in use at that time will not silently become paid without notice.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the email address on your account and for keeping access to that inbox secure — sign-in links sent to it grant access to your account.
- One person per account. You may not share, sell, or transfer your account.
3. Your content
You retain full ownership of everything you upload or create in the Service — resumes, job descriptions, cover letters, and chat messages (“Content”). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit your Content solely to operate the Service (for example, sending resume text to an AI model to generate the analysis you requested). This license ends when you delete the Content or your account, except for residual backup copies retained up to 30 days.
You are responsible for your Content. You agree not to upload Content that:
- contains another person’s personal data without their permission;
- is unlawful, malicious (including malware), or infringes intellectual-property rights;
- attempts to manipulate, probe, or extract the underlying AI systems or prompts.
4. AI-generated output
The Service uses large language models. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. Scores, rewrites, match ratings, and “interview readiness” figures are estimates, not guarantees — they do not promise interviews, offers, or any hiring outcome, and they are not professional career, legal, or HR advice. Review everything the AI produces before using it; you are responsible for the accuracy and truthfulness of any resume or letter you send to an employer.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- access the Service through automated means or circumvent rate limits;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure;
- attempt to access other users’ data or non-public areas of the Service;
- resell or provide the Service to third parties as your own offering;
- use the Service to generate fraudulent credentials or misrepresent identity.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or create risk for other users, with notice where practicable.
6. Intellectual property
The Service — its software, design, and branding — belongs to ResumeME and its licensors. These Terms grant you no rights to it beyond normal use of the Service.
7. Availability and changes
We aim for high availability but provide the Service “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features; if we discontinue the Service entirely, we will give you reasonable notice and an opportunity to export your Content.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ResumeME will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, opportunities (including employment opportunities), data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (currently $0) or $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
9. Indemnity
You will indemnify ResumeME against claims arising from your Content or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time (see the Privacy Policy). Sections 3 (license end), 6, 8, 9, and 11 survive termination.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which ResumeME is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at support@resumeme.io and give us 30 days to work in good faith to resolve the dispute informally.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes we will notify you by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect; continued use after that date constitutes acceptance. The current version always lives at this page.
